Process Description of Flash Absorption Process based Semi Dry Flue Gas Desulphurization System
Based on flash drying principle
SO2 in the incoming flue gas reacts with semi solid mixture of lime, recycled calcium sulphate and calcium sulphite
The reaction byproducts consist of unreacted lime, CaCO3, and CaSO4.The byproduct collected is recycled along with the fresh lime slurry into the reactor.
Features
Fully automatic system
No effluent water generation
Least maintenance required
No anticorrosive lining required
Low initial cost
Reduced material handling requirements
Applications
Flue gas cleaning system for Waste to Energy Plants generating acid gases
Process Description of Spray drying based Semi-Dry Flue Gas Desulphurization System
The process consists of large chamber in which absorbent liquid is sprayed and made to react with SO2 in the incoming flue gas to produce reaction products in form of particulates
The exhaust gas is then passed through bag filter to remove residual particulate matter and clean gas is discharged to atmosphere through stack
Features
Calcium Oxide slurry is used as sorbent.
Fully automatic plant
Integrated SO2 and particulate control.
Relatively low initial cost.
Applications
Flue gas cleaning system for Waste to Energy Plants generating acid gases
